American Idol Season 11 Betting Lines For May 4, 2012
May 4th, 2012 | Author: JohnWhat is the deal with Hollie Cavanaugh? I like her a lot. Probably more than most. But the fact she survived another elimination is mind-boggling to me. She’s spent so much time in the bottom three she should be paying rent, and is always at the bottom of Bovada’s list to win the show.
Yet, she made it to the top 4 last night.
The favorite is still in the competition, but American Idol viewers got a huge shock when Skyler Laine was eliminated from the show Thursday night.
The down-home, southern country girl was among the favorites to win the show on Bovada’s American Idol Futures page.
She made no mistake of her desire to win the show throughout and seemed to be one of the better contestants at picking songs that suited her. But she was way off Wednesday night in her performance of Dusty Springfield’s “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me”. Mentor Jimmy Iovine even complained it was too “Vegas” and “Broadway” for his taste.
Cavanaugh took full advantage of the small window she had and knocked it out of the park, and that apparently was the difference. What have you done for me lately is the theme here.
Still, even when almost everyone was throwing boots at the screen, Laine wore hers in stride and seemed quite composed. It looked like Cavanaugh was more shaken up by the elimination than Laine.
So that leaves us with the Final Four. Phillip Phillips is still the front runner on Bovada. He hasn’t been nearly as good lately as he was at the start of the show, but Jimmy Iovine let on that Phillips has been battling an illness, which could be resulting in the bland performances.
Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez have the best odds to overtake Phillips, but Sanchez has been eliminated before, only to receive the judges’ save card.
